It has been a while since I have been out to lake martin for sunrise with the holidays and traveling lately, but I was able to drag myself out of bed this weekend for a sunrise shoot. It was quite chilly Saturday morning (Jan 6, 2006) at 29°F (remember this is Louisiana). There weren't many clouds in the sky, but I was able to catch a couple of shots during the couple of hour morning shoot.
This first image was shot well before sunrise with absolutley no wind. You are looking west and the light on the horizon is the city of lafayette. This was shot with the Canon 10D and 17-40 F/4L Zoom at F-8 and 30sec exposure.
I spotted this Great White Egret feeding by the road and spent several minutes waiting for a pose. This image was shot with the Canon 70-200 f/4L at 200mm with a 1.4 tele at f4.
